Consumer Critiques

I rated this three stars which Amazon defines as "It really is OK" which is how I feel about it :)
Size/Weight/Move-potential ten/ten -- I feel the size and weight are fine, the unit is heavy (~50lbs) but not so heavy that you cannot lift it from the box, it does have handles on the side to grab, and rolls in any direction on casters. It is not incredibly massive, about the size of a modern day dehumidifier or mini-fridge
Front Panel/Controls 5/10 -- The controls are straight forward and simple to use, the exception getting that when you're in the "AUTO" mode you can not adjust the fan speed, it is a little odd. The big situation, and why I rate it five/ten is that there are six SUPER Bright LEDs on the front of the unit, as far as I can tell they serve no purpose whatsoever, they are merely there and they are on whenever the unit is on. When it really is vivid in the space it is not a major deal, but at night when you happen to be trying to sleep this is a significant problem, I am probably going to have to cut out tiny wedges of electrical tape or a thing to stick more than them. It comes with an IR remote that lets you manage it as properly. The display on the front will show the room temperature ordinarily and when you are adjusting the temperature controls up and down it will modify to show the desired temp for a few seconds. One note right here is that the unit seems to stop cooling even when you're a really good 5F or so away from the desired temp--Instance, it was 78 in my room final night and I set the unit for 73 it was running for a while but when the temp hit 77 the compressor shut off for a fairly lengthy time and the space began to really feel hot, temp went back up to 78 and it clicked back on... this might just be a quirk with my unit or a thing, but my window-mounted a/c will preserve operating until their ambient temp sensors equal the desired temp setting.
Window Adapter/Hose 8/10 -- This is a single hose model, that signifies that it sucks air from the room to blow more than the condenser (hot component) and then that air is blown outside one thing to keep in mind is that you are sucking air from the room which signifies you are blowing your "conditioned" air outside as element of the typical course of action, as a result this unit will not cool a room as efficiently as a dual-hose model or a window/wall unit which each use outside air to cool the condenser--so this 10kBTU model will not cool a room as nicely as a 10kBTU window unit (it could possibly be a great deal more comparable to a 7-8kBTU?). The window/hose adapters are decent quality, the only complaint I have is that I wish the adapter were "taller", my window sill is about 1" high, as a result the hose hits the sill before it the adapter hits the base, this is not a large deal, but just wanted to note it. Yet another factor to note, some many people complain about the window adapters not sealing quite nicely--this one seems to do an OK job, the window just closes on the flat top rated of the adapter as a seal. The point to preserve in thoughts w/ these portable a/c's is that getting a brilliant seal is not extremely expected or needed for the unit to operate, you get just as substantially air leakage around window mounted a/c's. The window adapter, hose adapter and hose are all nicely constructed and produced of great materials--one particular tip: initial screw the hose onto the unit, then screw the wide-mouth adapter issue onto the hose, THEN put the wide-mouth adapter into the window adapter, if you decide to buy this you are going to see what I mean :)
Cooling/Air Output ten/ten -- Works excellent! Extremely cold air, and it blows the air rapidly out of the vent, a lot far better then my window mounted units which really feel like they just dribble out air from time to time
Noise 7/10 -- Very first: It tends to make noise, all air conditioners do, if you will need silence to sleep then you will need a further solution other then window/portable a/c's, I can sleep with the "white noise" of a fan/motor operating. The unit is no louder then my 8kBTU window-mount unit when operating with and without having it's compressor operating having said that, the purpose I give it a 7/10 is that the unit tends to make more noise when the compressor turns on and off then my window unit does, in addition the compressor cycles on/off pretty commonly and for brief periods, which exacerbates the matter. So far it has been waking me up, and that is not good, it remains to be seen if I can applied to the noise, or this will develop into an awake-only unit.
Draining five/10 -- With low space humidity this unit need to be in a position to exhaust most of the water out with the waste air, which means no draining... but with high humidity you want to drain the unit, this an problem on this unit considering in contrast to other units it does not drain into a bucket which can be removed and dumped out. With this unit you need to have to put a "shallow pan", as the instructions say, under the drain cock and open it... nicely this pan wants to be definitely shallow (see my user submitted image) mainly because the drain cock is only about 1-two" off the floor! I can envision this being a true nightmare to empty and I'm not seeking forward to really humid days
General I believe this is a decent portable a/c, and I am hopeful that it will operate out.
Summarized my major issues are:
1) Does not have a bucket to empty, if it requirements draining that will be quite troublesome w/o a bucket
2) Front Panel LEDs are super vivid and usually on, makes it difficult to sleep
three) Compressor tends to make a lot more noise then expected when beginning/stopping, this wakes me up at night
Summarized the pro's are:
1) Really beneficial air output--lots of volume and pressure
2) Cold output! Good for spot cooling, move the unit close to you and you will freeze your butt off even if the rest of the room is warmer then you may like
3) Simple to move around on the casters
4) Reasonable price tag

I purchased an ACP-1000H a couple of months back for my apartment but needed a thing even smaller than that for my brother's dorm space. That's when I located out that Air-N-Water.com had a newer, slimmer unit out -- the AC-10000E. We bought this a couple of weeks ago and was so surprised when we opened up the box. This portable air conditioner is TINY! It fit into my brother's cramped dorm space just fine and works actually nicely for its size. It also has some extra capabilities such as a timer and remote for convenience. General, I am happy with this air conditioner.
