WOW- the value on this unit has gone up because I purchased it. I only paid 34.99- you can get this very same type fan with 3 speeds for much less at the time of this writting. I would check that out initially. I saw this unit in a Target ad and was in a hurry so purchased it from them. On sale it was the identical as Amazon. The unit is extremely quiet and it only has two speeds. The high speed blows a gentle stream of air across the space. I have it placed on the opposite side of the space from my reading chair and the air is just adequate to preserve me cool without the distraction of having to weight down every little thing for fear it will blow away. I uploaded a couple of images to show how this unit swivels. I have it tiped up every so slightly so that the bottom blows towards my feet although the upper blows a gentle breeze on my upper physique. This is definatly not a high volocity wind machine, but is best for a little room exactly where you need a gentle wind flow. The room I use it in faces the southwest so the afternoon sun heats up the room. I use this room for reading, so I just wanted a fan that would blow gently and this does the job perfectly. As you can see the upper fan is stationary, it only moves with the complete unit, the bottom half does rotate up and down so you can have the leading blowing straight up and the bottom blowing across the space. Hope this helps. I like it. This has lowered the temperature in my apartment by three degrees.

This fan is incredibly quiet, accordingly it is not overly effective. What tends to make this fan a keeper is it really is potential to swivel so one fan is facing upward whilst the other fan is facing horizontally. This is superb for circulating the cool air on the floor to the ceiling to give you a much more even temperature by way of the apartment. I reside in an old constructing exactly where the heating and cooling is not pretty even and this fan functions wonders for me. Prior to owning this fan there was at least a 5 degree temperature difference in between my bedroom and my living room, no even more!
The fan isn't for everybody but if you want a fan you can leave on most of the time devoid of causing any superb disturbance I would say this one particular is a superb selection.
