I returned this item immediately after utilizing it for only 1 night. It did not cool. It only was a moist fan. It was also a mess to work with.

The first unit I received had a defective circuit board, suitable out of the box. The swinging louvres would not move when I attempted to activate the button on the unit itself. It did function when I utilised the, very useful, remote manage. The difficulty shooting guide was rather good although :-) It directed me to replace the circuit board. Thanks!
I am on my second unit, now, and it seems to be functioning effectively. It does cool fairly well, but almost certainly only for a 60 to 80 square foot location (rather than 100 square feet, as advertised), which is still fine for my demands. I use it next to my desk in an especially warm space, and at the foot of my bed at night. Keep in mind, evaporative coolers only cool properly in arid or semi-arid climates, exactly where the humidity is low. I live in Denver, Colorado.
Also, I had to purchase a smaller flashlight to be able to see the water level clearly, each in the course of the day and at night. Otherwise, I hope your eyes are far better than mine!
