There used to be a model of this fan that was close to wonderful. It was the HT-800 and I have 3 of them for the reason that I like having them in many rooms in the summer. That amazing model appears to have been replaced with this model which is much less effective. The less potent portion is OK, I can just turn the speed up on it (I continually used the initial setting on the HT-800--that sucker was sturdy!l). The part they genuinely screwed up, even though, is the base. They inexplicably cut away parts of it in the front and the back so now, rather of getting solid and sturdy feeling, it really is flimsy feeling and best heavy and falls more than or points upward every time you touch it.
